Habitué

Life

For lovers of wine, food and music, everything in this rare gem of a venue offers guests a sense of wonder in the stories they hold.

Welcome to Habitué, where candlelit tables and an ever-changing wine selection complement a vintage house filled with eclectic art and grape vines.

A little about Habitué’s history.

Restaurant veterans Gary and Therese, after a successful run with Barque and managing Il Lido, decided to open the ultimate experience in North Fremantle with Habitué. Named after a creature of habit, Habitué aims to provide a unique experience paired with delicious foods and fantastic wines.

What experience can guests expect at Habitué?

Habitué is just that, an experience. Walk past the gorgeous front yard through the wrought-iron door, and be greeted by the ever-lovely Therese. Once you have been sat at an intimate, candlelit table, a knowledgeable and passionate staff member takes you on a full culinary journey encompassing food, wine, and music. As the band plays smooth and sensual jazz, you work your way through a menu unlike any other in the area. Featuring locally sourced ingredients, Chef Erwin has created an eclectic and exciting menu to intrigue guests. After you’ve devoured every dish, sit back, relax and take in the beautiful surroundings of local art, fresh floral arrangements and a beautifully restored 80 year-old building that still holds the comfort and familiarity of home.

Most popular item on the menu?

The lamb shoulder, which is done in a brine and slow cooked to melty perfection, is the signature dish. It is seasoned with spices and delivered to the table on the bone and perfectly cooked.

Most unique item on the menu?

The new Heirloom Tomato Salad features heirloom tomatoes, fresh buffalo mozzarella, a Bloody Mary foam, fresh basil, and topped with a dehydrated olive powder. The perfect summer salad.

Do you have a signature drink?

The Gin Garden, which is comprised of fresh apple juice, lemon juice, gin, muddled cucumber and elderflower liqueur.

Dinner and a show…

There is a band playing smooth jazz from 7pm every Friday and Saturday evening.

Tell us about the phenomenal dessert menu.

The Wattleseed Parfait (think rich flavours of chocolate, hazelnut and espresso) with chocolate ganache, raspberry puree and a macadamia caramel crumble (absolutely incredible) highlights Aboriginal cuisine, and brings it in to the new age with a delicious twist. For those with dairy/gluten allergies the newly added Orange Dream Cake comprises an almond meal orange cake, topped with lavender-infused coconut dream and violet liqueur-infused apricot.

The thirst-quenchers…

Habitué is a fully licensed restaurant proudly featuring a wine list that changes every few days, allowing the element of surprise with its selections for the evening. The wine list tends to feature mainly European wines and a few Australian greats as well.
