Fini Group is transforming heritage listed Victoria House into a dynamic mixed-use residential development. They’re asking locals to weigh in on what’s missing in their ‘hood.

Fini Group’s plans will see the heritage-listed Victoria House in Shenton Park reimagined, pairing a range of retail and hospitality concepts with newly built residences.

The site, formerly the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital site, will see Perth’s Fini Group develop an innovative project incorporating one, two and three bedroom homes, which is one segment within the wider Montario Quarter precinct – a LandCorp development. The future-minded Fini Group is the name behind progressive projects including the historic State Buildings, Knutsford and the Alex Hotel.

Fini Group believes there is a growing desire for quality developments, which respond to their location and the specific needs of locals.

“We plan to maintain the site’s rich history and character with the restoration of Victoria House, while celebrating modern design with newly built residential homes,” Fini Group’s development manager Jo Bennett says. “This interplay between old and new will set the development apart as a unique place to live.”

Inspired by other leading developments internationally, Victoria House will be designed with sustainable features in mind – from car share schemes to solar power.

Exactly what the design includes is now down to public opinion, as Fini Group is currently inviting the Shenton Park community and surrounds to have their say and shaping the development of Victoria House. They are undertaking a survey to learn more about local residents and what they would like to see in their neighbourhood.

Jo says listening to what residents want is fundamental in creating a development that has a strong sense of place, and one which reflects the needs of the community.

“We have a particular interest in ensuring the community we help to establish flourishes and continues to grow over time,” she says. “Victoria House is a new breed of medium-density development that will be designed with people in mind.”

Plans for Victoria house are anticipated to be lodged for development approval in April, 2019.
