PATRICK CARPENTER BRINGS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE TO BOBECHE WITH HIS SPRING COCKTAIL MENU

Life

Highly acclaimed CBD cocktail bar, Bobeche welcomes new Bar Manager, Patrick Carpenter who’s set to shake things up in the basement.

A St Georges Terrace classic, Bobeche has solidified its reputation with the appointment of the new manager.

With 8 years of experience under his belt, Carpenter brings his knowledge and hands-on approach to the late-night haunt. Having previously managed big names around Perth including Late Night Valentine, Angel’s Cut by the Trustee, Meat Candy, El Publico and The Standard, he was ready for a new challenge. Carpenter was also recently involved in the comprehensive drinks list at Fleur situated in The Royal Hotel. It was here where his half-sized ‘snaquiris’ and ‘mar-tinys’ gained traction as predinner drinks.

Nestled underneath award-winning Heritage Wine Bar, Bobeche is known for its fruity teapot cocktails as well as its dedication to representing the classics with modern twists. With Carpenter at the helm, the Bobeche cocktail list has had an overhaul, launching their new Spring menu. The menu boasts bold flavours paired with contemporary techniques and finesse.

The cocktail list has been updated with the likes of a Banana Kingston, Flora Dora Fizz, Bobeche Iced Tea and Pineapple Daiquiri. Flavour combinations like strawberry and black pepper will be gracing the menu, with a number of the recipes being perfected by the bar manager over a 10-year period.

Carpenter said he’s looking forward to sinking his teeth into the drinks program and to continued success for Bobeche and the team in the post-COVID hospitality industry. “The new menu reflects everything Bobeche is about. The ingredients I’ve used are bright and fun whilst remaining true to traditional bartending techniques. We’ve worked hard on some house-made elements including chargrilled dehydrated pineapple, dry lacto ferment strawberries, sweet chai-style tea and black peppercorn tincture”, says Carpenter. Restaurant Owner, Ed Wolkowinski said that Patrick has been a breath of fresh air and is extremely passionate about staff education and harnessing passion within his team.

“We’re so pleased to have Pat on board. Bobeche is full of energy and our drinks offering reflects this. The Banana Kingston is a particular favourite of mine – an unexpected twist on a Negroni with crème de banana.”

“We can’t wait for everyone to try this new menu as we head towards the end of the year and approach the start of Summer”, says Wolkowinski.

Bobeche will also be offering surprising entertainment on Saturday nights with magicians, snake charmers and cabaret dancers making special appearances throughout the night. Bobeche is open Tuesday to Thursday 4pm – midnight, Friday and Saturday 4pm – 1am and is closed Sunday and Monday.
