New platform to attract national talent to WA’s hospitality, producer and agriculture industries

A new dedicated employment platform for Western Australia’s hospitality, producer and agriculture sectors was launched today to help the industries attract local and interstate talent.
Jobs. by WA Good Food Guide is a one stop employment hub for the hospitality, producer, supplier, and agriculture sectors in WA which like many local industries are experiencing labour shortages.

Jobs. by WA Good Food Guide is set to innovate the way these key industries attract talent to WA and their organisations and make job searching in the industry a seamless experience for candidates locally, nationally, and abroad.

Already live on the site, a diverse list of opportunities from fish filleters, feedmill managers and project managers in renewable energy – to chefs, waitstaff, front of house
positions, venue managers and more. Whether job seekers are looking for inner city positions or regional roles, Jobs. by WA Good Food Guide is featuring placements from the far north, to the South West. With regional towns being some of the hardest hit by the current skills shortages – there will be a significant drive to promote the amazing opportunities that come with relocating to WA’s beautiful regions.

WA Good Food Guide Director Georgia Moore said the site was an industry first in WA allowing employers to list opportunities on a site specifically designed for and targeted to their sectors.

Ms Moore said she and the WA Good Food Guide team have worked closely with sector for many years and have developed the platform in response to industry need.

She said as Covid-19 restrictions in WA ease today and the hospitality sector looks to allow more patrons through its doors, attracting labour continues to be a challenge.

“Never have we had so many vacancies in the local hospitality and agriculture sectors,” she said. “These vacancies are causing businesses to grind to a halt and even close – we hope this site will allow businesses to advertise their vacancies in a targeted and cost-effective way. This new employment portal was designed by the industry for the industry and costs less than traditional recruitment pathways.”

Ms Moore said for years she had been asked by WA businesses if she knew where to find people to fill specific roles – she developed Jobs. by WA Good Food Guide to fill that gap.

“We have such a dynamic and developing hospitality and primary producer industry in WA with some fantastic career opportunities that we want to showcase nationally,” she said. Ms Moore said the platform is a long-term and strategic solution and will promote the amazing opportunities in WA to local, national, and international talent.

A brand campaign targeting job seekers will be rolled out in coming months to drive traffic to the site and its breadth of listings.
