Glas Italia was established in 1970 by the Arosio family in Brianza, an industrial area of Lombardy, Italy.
Innovation, combined with respect for the strongest quality principles, typical of Lombard industrial tradition, have enabled Glas Italia to create a variety of products for the home, the office and contract use which show an authentic passion for the glass manufacturing, making the best use of the family’s heritage – an old glass factory, founded at the beginning of the last century.
Glas Italia collaborates with renowned designers including, Ettore Sottsass, Piero Lissoni, Bouroullec Brothers and Patricia Urquiola.
They create a platform where designers can express their creative talent in the inexhaustible potential of such a pure, noble and refined material as glass, experimenting with Glas Italia’s technologically advanced production processes.
Working with Ettore Sottsass the group produced some of the most dynamic pieces using this new technology, and Sottsass described the company as one of the most openminded industrialists he had ever worked with.
