Ultimo Brings Wittmann Home

Design

Wittmann Hayon Workshop are now exclusively at Ultimo Interiors.

Ultimo have secured historic Austrian upholsterer Wittmann – exclusively, Australia wide – after the latest Salone Del Mobile. “Wittmann has been a hugely significant player in shaping European design over the last century. Architect Josef Hoffman is one of the true Masters alongside Le Corbusier and Van Der Rohe,” says Ultimo Interiors Creative Director Andrew Thornton Hick. “Having founded the Vienna Secession in 1897 with artist Gustav Klimt, he played a seminal role in European design evolution and his work is in the collections of the V&A in London and both MoMA and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.”

Working alongside world-famous designers like Paolo Piva and Jean Nouvel, Wittmann have recently collaborated with Spanish wunderkind Jaime Hayon. His typically joyful, eclectic style to is brought to life in their Wittmann Hayon Workshop – featuring in Ultimo’s Osborne Park showroom.

The Wittmann Hayon Workshop pieces are a nod to modernist Wittmann, with Hayon’s signature colourful palette and voluptuous silohuettes. The furniture in the collection includes The Vuelta dining table – an elliptical dining table with generous wooden legs and The Wings bed – a plush, upholstered headboard complete with tillable sides to cocoon or open up to its guest.
