Whether you feel like tequila or a fine wine, here are the latest bars that you must visit.
Caballitos
A Mexican bar has taken over the old 1907 site on Queen Street, in the heart of the CBD. At Caballitos, the lighting is dim and the vibe is fun, the margaritas are fresh and the buckets of Coronas are waiting. There are light snacks available and a popular Taco Tuesday where the tacos are $5 each.
Caballitos, 26 Queen Street, Perth 9321 8305, caballitos.com.au.
TWR
From the luxurious décor to the impressive drinks list, Crown Towers Perth has set the bar high with its lobby bar, TWR. The Palm Springs inspired space boasts high-ceilings, hanging chandeliers and a marble bar. Though TWR has a signature cocktail called the Aqui Estoy, it’s most popular cocktail is the Caramel Espresso Martini, and the classic Negroni is also worth a mention. It’s modern day mixology with a twist.
TWR, Crown Towers, Crown Perth, Great Eastern Highway, Burswood 1800 556 688, crownperth.com.au.
Gazette
Print Hall has opened Gazette, a new all-day bar and osteria on St Georges Terrace. It’s the ultimate spot for an after-work (or lunch time) drink. The menu is a playful take on Italian dining and the seafood menu boasts some local favourites with WA cuttlefish and Fremantle octopus.
Gazette, Brookfield Place, 125 St Georges Terrace, Perth 6282 000, printhall.com.au.
Measure
Cocktails and dessert? Yes, please! If you have a sweet tooth then get to Mt Lawley’s latest bar, Measure, where sweet is just as important as savoury. The cocktail list is broken down into cocktails, measured cocktails and mocktails, and there are savoury and sweet food options. Be sure to try the Lycee Chambord Martini with Paraiso Lychee Liqueur, Chambord Liqueur, Ketel One Vodka, pineapple and raspberry.
Measure Dessert Bar. 642 Beaufort Street, Mt Lawley, measurebar.com.au.
The Resident
The latest addition to the Western Suburbs has an impressive drinks menu with cocktails, wine, sparkling and beer. The décor is fresh; the vibe is relaxed and the Italian dining menu tasty. The space is a café during the day and bar at night, so you have the best of both worlds. Your hardest decision will be whether you feel like an Aperol Sour or Aperol Spritz.
The Resident, 156 Hampden Road, Nedlands 9386 9183, theresidentbar.com.au.
