Taking out gold, followed by Australia’s best Corn Whiskey. By Taking out the category win for Australia’s best, WSD were then invited to attend the prestigious Whisky Magazine Awards, World Whiskies Awards gala dinner held in London on Thursday 30 March. Upshot Red Corn Whiskey took out the Worlds Best Corn Whiskey.

What is Upshot Red Corn Whiskey

Crafted with the finest Western Australian grains and aged for two years in Virgin American White Oak barrels, Whipper Snapper’s Red Corn Whiskey is a smooth but bold blend that delivers a unique taste experience. Proudly sourced from within the Western Australian region, the distillery uses red corn from a family-run farm in Kununurra.

This special and unique variety of corn is directly from farmer Christian Bloecker and has whiskey lovers eager to get their hands on.

The drop itself is golden amber in colour and smells both sweet and florally. With the flavours of vanilla, old English toffee, honey and a hit of green apple to start, it has a creamy texture and is finished with hints of caramel, brown sugar and chocolate. In comparison to the flagship, Upshot, by simply changing the type of corn, there has been such a significant flavour difference.
